Feeling down? Try this.
Breathe.
The past few weeks I was feeling very down and couldn’t quite figure out why. Now, this can be really awful and can totally change your perspective. I started expecting the worst and didn’t want to do anything, even if it was something I would normally love to do. My life seemed bland and utterly pointless. All I did was eat food and sleep and when I wasn’t eating or sleeping, I was being super grumpy to the people close to me. Finally, someone had seen enough and was very worried about me. She brought it to my attention, and I realized how I was letting all this negativity into my head and it had completely changed my view. Once I realized it, I had to find a way to fix it. So I set out on my mission; get back to my true self. It took some serious self-reflecting, but it’s safe to say, I’m back. The list below is just seven of the things I did to help my mental health bounce back.
Seven things I recommend you try to improve your mental health:
- Drink water and eat veggies and fruits, healthy body = healthy mind
- Sleep 8-9 hours, no more and no less
- Reconnect with an old friend that you miss
- Play with your pet
- Get fresh air
- Wake up to happy music
- Exercise (it doesn’t have to be extreme)
